Some very outgoing youth from every church
in the district, were selected carefully to make up this group to form
the The Ananias project.
Ok first who was Ananias?
The story of Ananias is found in the book of
Acts 5:1 & 9:10 & 24:1.
In verses 9:10 - 20 Ananias of Damascus
was called upon by God to go and put his hands on Saul (which is Paul after
conversion.) and heal him so he may have sight, for Saul was to be
a chosen instrument to take God's message to the Gentiles and to the Kings,
as well as the people of Israel.
But ,see, Ananias was a Believer in the word of Jesus,
And at that time Saul was widely known for his torture and cruelty
towards the believers in Jerusalem. But Ananias did go as the lord said
to, and he said "Brother Saul, the lord Jesus who has appeared to you on
the road has sent me to you so that you may regain your sight and
be filled with the Holy Spirit." Instantly something like scales
fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Iimmediately Saul got up
and was Baptized. Saul went on to preach about Jesus
saying he was indeed the Son of God. Yes, this was a complete turn
around for Saul and many people could not believe what he was doing and
so they plotted to kill him. Saul averted the plots and escaped to Jerusalem
where the apostles accepted Saul . After that he was constantly with
them in Jerusalem preaching boldly in the name of the Lord.
Ok, see what we are getting at is this:
Ananias was afraid to go see Saul because of
what may have happened to him. However,
Ananias did go, and great things have happened ever
since.
